How to Build an Electric Generator to Power the House

Today our topic of discussion is How to Build an Electric Generator to Power the House through renewable energy sources.

You would surely like to learn how to build an electric generator to provide electricity power to your house / dwelling.  Using an electricity generating system based upon renewable energy source has many benefits, both environmentally and economically too. By producing electricity at home with renewable sources, there will not be emissions of harmful gases. Also, such a generator has been able to help people save a lot of money that they would have had to pay for the electricity to DISCOMs like UHBVNL in Haryana.

The amount Will It Cost To Build The Whole Electric Generator System And How To Build It?

The two most achievable arrangements are wind turbines or sun based power generators, and you can manufacture it is possible that one or even both if conditions enable you to utilize them. The guide that I use contains an entire rundown of the considerable number of parts required to fabricate both the sunlight based and wind fueled framework.

The breeze turbines will expect you to get PVC pipe for building the cutting edges. On the off chance that you are considering building greater turbines, you will likely need to manufacture wooden cutting edges rather to decrease the likelihood of them breaking. For the body of the turbine, you should have a 40 foot TV tower. Every one of the parts can be effectively obtained for a little expense or even free in the event that you search for them at the correct spots.

Why Build Your Own Homemade Electric Generator Instead Of Buying A Ready Made One?

Making the entire hand crafted electric generator power house  independent from anyone else has cost just about $180 for both the wind and solar energy oriented controlled devices. These solar or wind power generators may be purchased for at any rate between 3 to 3.5 Lakhs Rupees for a 5 KV generator in the event that they are in instant conditions available readily in the markets. Obviously, building your very own solar energy power generator will cost some time and you may likewise set aside some opportunity to comprehend the guide first, so it is dependent upon you to gauge the expenses and advantages.

A huge number of individuals have just reduced their very own home power bills with grid connected rooftop solar power projects like electricity generator based on solar energy. Advantages and Disadvantages Involving Renewable Energy Sources

While we discuss about Advantages and Disadvantages Involving Renewable Energy Sources, I can count on numerous Advantages versus Disadvantages. There are many aspects in favor and against renewable energy sources. Well before we ponder upon the main issue, it can be very significant that you not only know the broad topic of subject matter but also fully grasp these advantages and disadvantages involving renewable energy sources. This piece of information is meant to let you learn know-how about some of the major positives and negatives of solar energy panels, windmills energy and magnetic energy generating devices. It will be essential for you to distinguish these, so that you can be able to make the most effective selection yourself.

Advantages: Reasons In Support Of Advantages Involving Renewable Energy Sources

In our effort to learn Advantages and Disadvantages Involving Renewable Energy Sources, we would first contemplate reasons in favor of making use of renewable power:-

a) Advantages Involving Free Renewable Energy Sources.  The renewable energy sources are almost available free, or nearly free in abundance bestowed by our mother nature (depending on which device does one use). When you have sufficient funds or enough money to invest in to renewable energy devices, you’re saving money every single day. One time upfront cost or investment in to renewable energy pays consistently and coherently for next 25 years at least in the form of savings on electrical bills. Costs of electricity gained from oil and coal by means of fossil fuel will be constantly increasing every year as per global changing scenarios – so this factor will be a lot more important in favor to consider use of renewable sources.

b) Self Reliance in generation of own electricity.  An extra thing is that you may become self-reliant to generate your own electricity and completely independent from so-called electric power consortium or power kings, which is currently being controlled by the global energy market. All the natural resources available to the world have been captured by these so called power companies in the form of oil, coal, uranium and electricity. Only renewable energy sources are available freely to the mankind on the earth in the form of solar, wind and hydro energy. You only need right equipment to convert renewable energy sources in the unending electrical supply. One other good cause for using or switching into renewable energy devices is freedom from utility Grid who keeps on charging you every month in the form of electricity bills and invoices.

c) Who do not want to be eco-friendly? Everyone on the earth is highly concerned about the global warming and environmental issues. So everyone is looking to adopt clean, green and renewable energy to avoid use of fossil fuels. After that there is something bigger – we don’t wish to use power generating devices that pollute our air and environment. That is really crucial to make our mother Earth a better place to live on for us and our future generations. Once you take this aspect of environment into consideration, then it seems very sensible to use “free and renewable energy sources” technology available to mankind.
d) Solar Subsidy an Advantage involving sue of renewable energy sources.  Government of India (MNRE) in its clear move to achieve 100 GW by 2022, has decided to extend solar subsidies through Jawahar Lal Nehru Solar Mission via State Nodal Agencies and District Authorities to the tunes of Rupees 20,000 per kilowatt or 30% of the benchmark cost whichever is less. Residential, Institutional and NGO / NPO sector is eligible for solar subsidy. Commercial ventures are also benefitted by 40% Accelerated Deduction of Tax (ADT) other than Net Metering Facilities to reduce their electrical bills up to 90% for next 25 years by installing Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plants at their premises.
The points enumerated show the positive aspects of renewable energy sources. There is also a negative aspect of this issue. Here’s a discussion of some of the negatives and against the use of renewable energy sources.

Disadvantages: Reasons In Favor Of Disadvantages Involving Renewable Energy Sources

a) The problem of access through GRID – Our DISCOM power distribution companies are not much enthusiast towards this new found technology. DISCOM’s staff is also not technologically sound to accept and work on renewable energy sources and its devices. If you ever use some renewable energy sources device that might produce the effect of small access problems created by the Power Companies. So called “renewable energy sources device / machines” aren’t being accepted heartily or supported by our current electricity distribution companies. There is no way that this could be a good thing. DISCOM’s SDO (Operations) act as nodal agency for implementation of Net metering for use of renewable energy sources. Most of the states allow you to install a Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant equivalent to your Sanctioned Load (SL) at your premises.

b) Next point is about trained professional of renewable energy sources. If you have some difficulties, or technical problems, you’d probably like to call someone and ask for help. The problem with renewable energy solutions is that there are not many people out there in the country who are truly competent in this field at the moment. These technologies are just still very new to the world. As these technologies will spread among wide common masses, this problem is believed to be tackled in a right manner. Highly skilled and thoroughly professional team of DayRise Solar Enerdy Pvt Ltd may be always ready to help with regard to use and usage of renewable energy sources in and around Sonipat and Delhi NCR.

c) Several of these “renewable energy sources device / machines” have huge upfront cost in the beginning and costs a good deal of money, or usually are not really easy to build them on your own. A final justification to avoid using renewable energy sources is: many of “renewable energy sources device” costs a lot of money in the beginning. That especially pertains to solar panels, solar Inverters, Solar Batteries, Solar Mounting Structures and other balance of system for installation of Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plants. Solar batteries if installed as storage in off-grid solar power plants need recurrent replacement, thus costs heavily on the pocket of user. If you opt to use renewable energy sources / devices like solar batteries, wind energy, hydro energy and others, this may be crucial factor to consider.

Conclusion : Advantages and Disadvantages Involving Renewable Energy Sources

So there you have it. We have seen and examined all the aspects related to the advantages and disadvantages of making use of renewable energy sources. It is going to be next new-to-be-adopted universal phenomena, available for everybody; nonetheless it will surely appeal to a great many people all over world. You will want to look at the information presented to make your decision, for or against. The information presented here will certainly assist you to be well prepared to make the best and final decision whether to go for renewable energy sources or not.

The massive dream of India Inc to attain 100 GW by 2022 is now appears possible with provision of various solar subsidy in India with a view to provide a push to the Government’s dream project – to be a global leader in field of Solar Energy, Solar Power and Renewable Energy.

India is blessed with ample solar energy potential with 300 days of sunlight. About 5,000 trillion kWh per year energy is experienced over India’s land space with most parts receiving 4-7 kWh per sq. m per day. The authorities, henceforth goals to create solar schemes to make use of this renewable supply of energy effectively.

All rooftop solar power plants, whether or not net-metered/ gross-metered or not, are all eligible for Central Financial Assistance (CFA) or Subsidy of 30% provided by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). Of course, this has a restriction that it’s only for these three sectors i.e. Institutional, Domestic or Social Sector.

Solar Subsidy in India is being regulated by the Central, State and District authorities in the form of MNRE at Centre, SNA as State Nodal Agencies and District ADCs as Chief Project Officer to regulate the disbursement of solar subsidy in India to the user of eligible category.

Various models of regulation of solar subsidy in India by the States are given below just to understand the modalities and main pointers:-

Solar Subsidy in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra

Solar Subsidy in India won’t be withheld on the only standards that NOC has not been allotted by DISCOM for permitting grid connectivity. According to the rules, this could speed up the tempo of undertaking execution of Rooftop Solar tasks. Further, it states that so long as SNA/ SECI/ PSU/ govt. company (implementing company) accountable disbursing subsidy, states that the undertaking follows MNRE requirements, subsidy may be disbursed. The user has to submit a ‘Joint Inspection Report’, made by developer, user and implementing company to MNRE. Here are a number of codes for Joint Inspection Report which might be getting used in some states (Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra) :-

  • The easiest type of mostly available solar subsidy in India is 30% capital subsidy by MNRE.
  • Following are the essential MNRE pointers for this
  • Project shouldn’t exceed 100 kWp installation (single location).
  • Project might be off-grid or grid-synchronized.
  • Power can’t be fed to the grid i.e. it must be for captive consumption solely.
  • Battery backup is optionally available.

INR Five per kWh has been considered of as the current grid worth. In a lot of the instances throughout India that is true and INR per kWh for Grid Power is in the vary of INR Six to INR Seven as effectively. In some uncommon instances it may be lesser than INR Five per kWh.

Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) Highlights

Installation of Rooftop solar power plant is restricted to 100% of sanctioned / contract load. (The sanctioned load is known as kW in your electricity invoice.) Consumers can install solar power plant more than the sanctioned load by getting the sanctioned load increased to the size of solar power plant concurrently.

Net metering  with yearly settlement: Every billing cycle, the units (kWh) generated from the solar plant are subtracted from the consumed units and the consumer has to pay the invoice for the excess units consumed. If extra power is generated by the rooftop plant than consumed, then the consumer will get a zero invoice and the surplus units are carried ahead to the subsequent billing cycle.
At the top of the 12-month settlement interval (August to June OR September to July), the units consumed in the 12 months are summed. Solar units generated and exported to the grid are thought of as industrial units as much as 90% of the entire yearly consumption, and are eligible for net-metering set-off calculations. Any units generated and exported past 90% of the consumed units are handled as lapsed or non-commercial. This implies that the consumer has to pay TNEB for no less than 10% of his 12-month unit consumption; there can be no profit to the patron for extra units generated by the rooftop solar plant past 90% of the entire units consumed by him.

30% MNRE subsidy available by way of Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA)

Before discussing Procedure to Avail Solar Subsidy in Haryana for Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant, we certainly have to learn and understand What is Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant or On-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant?

What is Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant

In a Roftop Solar System, the solar panels are installed on the roof of any residential, commercial, institutional and industrial buildings. Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant can be of two types:-

(i) Off-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant System with storage facility using battery, and
(ii) On-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant System i.e. Grid Connected Rooftop Solar System with Net metering facilities without Batteries.

Since we are discussing about Procedure to Avail Solar Subsidy in Haryana for Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant, hence our main focus would be to discuss Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant. On-Grid Solar systems generate power during the day time equivalent to the sanctioned load of the consumer which is utilized fully by powering captive loads and excess power is fed in to the grid as long as grid is available. In case, where solar power is not sufficient due to climatic conditions, cloud cover etc., the captive loads are served by drawing power from the grid through Net Meter (Bi-directional).

Working of Grid Connected Rooftop Solar System

The On-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant System i.e. Grid Connected Rooftop Solar System can work on net metering basis wherein the beneficiary pays to the utility on net meter reading basis only. Normally a Net meter contains two meters i.e. Export and Import meter which reflects user’s total energy usage. Such power plants can be installed at the roofs of residential and commercial complex, housing societies, community centers, government organizations, private institutions etc. Ideally, On-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant System i.e. Grid Connected Rooftop Solar System do not require battery back-up as grid acts as the back-up for feeding excess solar power and vice-versa. However, to enhance the performance reliability of the overall systems, a minimum battery backup of one hour of load capacity as stand alone system may be installed or existing battery inverter system could also be utilised by the user in case of non-availability of Grid and Solar. In grid interactive systems, it is ensured that in case the grid fails, the feeding of solar power to the grid is stopped immediately so as to safe-guard any grid person/technician from getting shock (electrocuted) while working on the grid for maintenance etc. This feature is termed as ‘Islanding Protection’. Simply it may be understood that in the event of failure of Grid main electricity, the solar power plant would also get shut down for safety and security measures. In such case, the user may utilise his stand alone offgrid system (existing inverter battery) for running his / her load.
