Will Solar Panels Save You Money

When we talk about the upfront cost estimates of solar panels, users are apprehensive and always concerned about “Will solar panels save you money”. Homeowners, residential users, commercial and industries owners who are contemplating to install grid connected rooftop solar power plants at their premises / dwellings are perhaps concerned about the environmental issues, but also huge upfront cost involved in solar panels installation. Even after taking into account the upfront cost estimates, input tax credits, state solar subsidies, rebates, incentives etc., many people are still found to be apprehensive  about the solar panels installation cost and always found ponder upon main issue i.e. “Will solar panels save you money”

Yes: Investment in Solar Photo-voltaic Modules or Solar PV Panels is worth vis-à-vis today’s electric prices.

Residential Solar panels contain solar cells, known as photo-voltaic cells, connected in series or parallel so that highest efficiency of the solar panel is achieved and the solar panels require the maximum solar energy, full sunlight as long as possible without being obstructed from trees or shade lines from the roof.

Solar Photo-voltaic is primarily used for grid connected electricity to operate residential appliances, commercial equipment, lighting and air-conditioning for all type of buildings.  Through standalone systems and use of batteries, it is also well suited for remote regions where there is no electricity or very limited. Solar PV modules can be ground mounted or installed on a rooftop of a building.

First apprehension about how and where to arrange huge upfront cost / investment

Solar Loan by Public Sector Undertaking / Nationalised Banks

Now-a-days all Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) / nationalized banks like IDBI, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Bank of India etc. are offering solar loans and renowned solar companies are facilitating easy access to such loans.  Hence the first fear of huge upfront investment is almost omitted by the fact that 70% of the total cost of solar power plant installation may be financed by the banks.

Nationalized / PSUs banks are very keen in supporting the Government’s initiative for providing of renewable clean source of energy through the installation of rooftop solar PV plants, solar lighting system and solar water heating system. While we still contemplate Will Solar Panels Save You Money, the very first concern about arrangements of upfront cost is deviated by provision of solar loans.

Government of India’s Direction for Solar Loans to the Needy

Government of India, Ministry of Finance has advised all PSUs / Nationalized banks to encourage the home loan / home improvement loan for installation of rooftop solar PVs and include the cost of such equipment in their housing loan. All PSUs / Nationalized banks have instructed their branches / offices to take not of these directions and extend loan for installation of rooftop solar PVs as part of housing loans and house repair / renovation loans. Provision of solar loan makes solar panels installation easy to eliminate any apprehension about “Will Solar Panels Save You Money”.

Interest Rate of Solar Loan Equivalent to Home Loan

Interest rate on loan for installation of grid connected rooftop solar power plants is equivalent to home loan.  With increasing awareness to adopt clean green renewable energy and the rising cost of grid supplied electricity, rooftop solar plants are finding more and more takers in the residential, institutional, social and commercial sector.

Installation of Solar Panels identified as Priority Sector Lending

Taking this into account the Government of India via Reserve Bank of India, has directed for financing of solar plants while identifying it as Priority Sector by all Public Sector Banks (PSUs), specifically targeting the needs of individual domestic users, housing development societies, small and medium commercial entrepreneurs.  The solar loan may be clubbed with home loan either existing or a new one.

Solar loans can be considered as part of home loans

Solar loans can be considered as part of home loans. All PSUs and nationalized banks may allow cost of grid connected rooftop solar power plants as part of house constructions price. If a user already has previous / existing home loan, then cost of installation of solar power plant may be considered as home improvement loan.

Second apprehension about DISCOM’S electricity rates vis-à-vis price of utility generated through Solar

Cost of One Unit of Electricity provided by Power Distribution Companies (DISCOM)

Presently, all most all DISCOM Utility companies in India charge Rupees 3 to 6 per unit for domestic users while levying other extra charge like electricity duty etc. whereas  it is Rupees 6 to 7 per unit for commercial users. Price of electricity generated by coal or oil is very much linked to current market prices and inflation hence very much liable for increase every year.  [News Flash] Government of India is likely to increase electricity price by Rupees 3.75 per unit to combat the power tariff.

Cost of One Units of Electricity generated by Solar Panels

On the other hand, solar power plant once installed is guaranteed to generate electricity consistently and coherently at least for 25 years or beyond.  Presently cost of generation by solar power plant is somewhere Rupees 2 to 4 per unit considering its yielding for a longer period.

And this omits both the critical factor which are apprehensive in adopting of clean green renewable energy i.e. electricity by solar photovoltaic PV Panels.

Return of Investment on Installation of Solar Panels in India

Because whole cost of installation is paid up-front and the benefits flow in over 25 to 30 years, it is important to account for the fact that a Rupees saved today is not worth as much as a Rupees saved tomorrow. The value of money is slated to be receded and degraded day by day. The best way to factor in the timing of costs and benefits is to calculate a “leveled” cost per kilowatt-hour. Thus, a typical Rupees 215000 system (after 30% Central / state government’s rebates / subsidies, incentives and input tax credit) is worth to save Rupees 4000 per month for next 25 years. We can summarize that such system would return Rs.48000 every year and a total of Rupees 12 Lakhs in next 25 years.  The return of investment is quite impressive and worth to adopt solar power plant installation at your house, premises, dwellings, shopping malls, institutions or industries etc.

Are home solar panels worth the cost?

At these rates, the sector of residential consumers could indeed save money, because the solar power would replace electricity from the utility that costs them Rs.6 to 8 per unit.  Smaller users, however, would be replacing power that only costs them 4 to 6 Rupees per unit. Probably about 80 % of urban and Semi-Urban domestic customers, the very heaviest users, would save money by installing solar panels (though they would likely save more money by improving the energy efficiency of their dwellings). The other 20% percent would also get benefit financially at current electricity rates if they consider inflation and increased rates of DISCOM’s electricity.

Prices of DISCOM’s electricity slated to rise

The prices of electricity are going to change over time despite all the facts considered in this article. The average price may increase if the price of natural gas, oil, coal, uranium rises quicker than inflation or a greater share of the power comes from more-expensive alternative-energy sources. But alternative energy – wind power, hydro power, geothermal and even solar energy is going to get cheaper as technology advances. In addition, that sharp rate structure is likely to be more pricey, considerably increasing the electricity rates that the largest users now face.  The savings from solar panels that those households would enjoy under current rates is going to shine in near future.

Solar energy makes an environmental statement

Installing solar PV reduces the danger of greenhouse gases and other pollutants.  New and renewable energy i.e. solar energy makes an environmental statement, and most of the people love the blue panels look on their rooftop pretty cool. There are many other reasons to buy solar panels, but if you are looking for big savings on electricity, you are very likely to be delighted with this new-found technology for the people.

Third Apprehension: How Solar Panels Save Me Money

1 kW Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant is guaranteed to generate 4-5 units per day for next 25 years consistently thus saving at least Rupees One Thousand a month.  Solar Panels are capable to cut your electric bill up to 90% in ideal sunlight conditions.

Fourth Apprehension: If Solar Panels work in night?

Name of solar panels itself suggest that it generates electricity from the sunlight.  Hence a grid connected rooftop solar power plant installed at your house / premises is capable to generate electricity during day time itself equal to your 24 hours load’s requirement.  During day time your load runs on solar generated electricity and excess if any is fed in to the grid by the help of bid-directional net meter.  Extra electricity fed in to the grid during day time would reverse during night through the same net meter, hence your consumption of grid’s electricity remains almost zero despite this fact that solar panels do not work in night.

Fifth Apprehension: If Solar Panels still worthy despite upfront cost

Yes, answer is affirmative.  Solar revolution is aided and supported by Government of India in the form of Solar Subsidies, rebates ranging from 30 to 70% as per your demographic residential status.  State Governments provides solar generation incentive by compensating through monthly electrical bills. Most of the state Governments in India provides solar generation incentives ranging from Rupees 1 to 2 per unit generated by solar.  Other than this, any extra non-consumed units fed in to the grid though net meter get accumulated which should be used within one financial year (between 01 April to 31 March to avoid lapse of accumulated units). Top of this, Delhi Government would buy un-expended units for Rupees 2 per unit after lapse of two financial years.

A Ready Reckoner to assess “Will Solar Panels Save You Money”

What is difference between on-grid and off-grid solar system

Before we get into depth about “what is difference between on-grid and off-grid solar system”, we must first understand how does Solar panels work?

How does Solar Panels Work?

Solar Panels, solar modules or solar photo-voltaic PV modules actually work by absorbing sunlight with photo-voltaic cells, generating direct current (DC) electricity and then converting it to usable alternating current (AC) electricity with the help of smart solar inverter technology. AC energy or electricity then flows through the home’s electrical panel via Array Junction Box (AJB) and Distribution Junction Box (DJB) for further distribution to the load accordingly.

Solar energy or solar power is perhaps the cleanest, most reliable form of renewable energy available to the mankind, and it can be used in several forms to help power your home or business. Solar-powered photo-voltaic (PV) panels convert the sunlight into electricity by stimulating electrons in silicon cells using the photons of light from the sun.

What is the difference between On-grid and off-grid solar power

Now it is easier to understand “What is the difference between On-grid and off-grid solar power?” On-grid solar power means your solar power plant or solar panels system is tied to your local utility company’s system which is called as “grid” or “mains electricity”. Each and every state in India has its own Electricity Distribution Corporations / Companies like state of Haryana has Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitaran Nigam (UHBVN) and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitaran Nigam (DHBVN). Most of the residence / Institutional / NGOs / NPOs / Industries use Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant System so that their load runs on solar throughout day time while extra units / electricity produced by the system is fed in the grid through Bi-Directional Net Meter. Extra Units or electricity fed in the day time can be utilized by the user during night through Bi-Directional Net Meter. This system is helpful to curtail your electricity bills up to 90% for almost 25 years. Let us understand this by a simple example of 5 kWp Grid Connected solar power plant installed at a User’s rooftop is expected to produce 4-5 units per kilowatt per day. Thus a 5 kWp solar plant will produce at least 20 units per day. So in this example, user’s consumption may be 10 units during day time and similar amount of units at night. So, after providing 10 units to the user’s load, remaining 10 units are fed in the Grid during day time and same is received back during night time. At the end, we can summarize that user had produced his own 20 units by the solar system and utilized his whole 20 units (10 during and 10 at night) by the help of On-Grid Inverter and Bidirectional Net Meter. We may note here, that On-Grid system requires availability of Mains electricity to enable feeding in excess units in the Grid. In case of Grid failure, On-Grid solar power plant would also stop working due to International Safety and Security measures for Grid workforce. So we can say, on-grid solar power plant is installed in such areas where grid availability is almost 24 hours to enable excess generation to be fed in the grid.

On-Grid v/s Off-Grid

Now we can define that On-Grid Systems are solar pv systems that only generate power when the utility power grid is available. They must connect to the grid to function. They can send excess power generated back to the grid when you are overproducing so you credit it for later use. On-Grid solar system can be installed in most of the Metropolitan Cities, Urban and Sub-Urban cities of India where grid availability is almost 24 hours.

Grid tied Solar PV systems consist of solar panels, Solar String inverter. These systems do not utilize batteries since Grid is used as storage of excess electricity produced by the system. The solar panels generate electricity from sunlight and feed it to the solar string inverter which converts the DC voltage coming from the solar panels directly into AC power to match the grid.

When daylight sun-rays fall on solar panels they produce Direct Current (DC) electricity which is converted into 240 V AC power by solar string inverters to power up your load, excess power, if any is fed in the grid by help of two-way energy meter (bidirectional net meter). Some electricity companies will meter the electricity fed into the grid by your solar power plant system and provide a credit on your bill in the form of Solar Generation Incentives. Accumulated credited units can be consumed by the user within one financial year to avoid lapse.

A grid-connected photo-voltaic power system or grid-connected PV power system is electricity generating solar PV power system that is connected to the utility grid. A grid-connected PV system consists of solar panels, String Solar inverters, and grid Bidirectional Net Meters for connection with the Grid or main electricity.

On the other hand, off- grid solar power plant system is a system designed to help people’s own electrical system function without the support of remote infrastructure, such as an electrical grid. In electricity, off-grid solar power plant system can work as stand-alone power system or mini-grid typically to provide a electricity to users or smaller community who either do not have access or have very limited access to the main grid with electricity like most of the rural areas in India.

Off-grid solar power plant systems can refer to living in a self-sufficient manner without relying upon local electricity distribution companies DISCOM Utility. Off-grid rooftop solar power plants are autonomous; they do not rely on electrical power grid, or similar utility services.

On-grid inverters collect DC power from solar panels, convert it into AC, and send it into the load as well as into grid for credit / later use. On-Grid solar power plants are simple and easier to install since there are only two main components i.e. string inverter and solar panels. On the other hand an off-grid inverter needs a battery bank to function.

Off-Grid solar power plant is sufficient to power your house with a solar energy system. House hold appliances and lights that use AC (alternating current) electricity will require an inverter to do the job conversion from DC to AC.

Solar energy in India

India is being densely populated and having excessive solar insulation, offers a really perfect mixture for solar energy in India. Much of the nation doesn’t have grid, so one of the primary purposes of solar energy has been for water pumping, to start changing India’s 4 to 5 million diesel powered water pumps, average consumption near about 3 to 5 kilowatts, and off-grid lighting. Some giant initiatives have been proposed, and a 35,000 km² space of the Thar Desert has been put aside for solar power projects, adequate to generate 700 to 2,100 gigawatts.

Solar Energy in India is a fast developing industry

The country’s solar installed capacity reached 23 GW as of 30 June 2018. India expanded its solar-generation capacity 8 times from 2,650 MW on 26 May 2014 to over 20 GW as on 31 January 2018. The 20 GW capacity was initially targeted for 2022 but the government achieved the target four years ahead of schedule. The country added 3 GW of solar capacity in 2015-2016, 5 GW in 2016-2017 and over 10 GW in 2017-2018, with the average current price of solar electricity dropping to 18% below the average price of its coal-fired counterpart.

In July 2009, India unveiled a $19 billion plan to provide 20 GW of solar power by 2020. Under the plan, solar-powered gear and installation of solar power plant could become necessary in all residential plots measuring more than 500 Sq Yards, all private schools, colleges, training institutions, vocational institutes, NGOs / NPOs, Government authorities buildings together with hospitals and resorts.

18 November 2009, it was reported that India is able to launch its Solar Mission underneath the National Action Plan on Climate Change, with plans to generate 1,000 MW of power by 2013. Presently the nation has been assigned target to achieve 100 GW solar power by 2022.

Availability of Solar Energy in India

With about 300 clear sunny days in annually, India’s theoretical solar power reception, simply on its land space is about 5 PWh/year. The every day common solar energy incident over India varies from 4 to 7 kWh/m2 with about 2,300–3200 sunshine hours per yr, relying upon location. This is excess of present complete energy consumption. For instance, even assuming 10% conversion effectivity for PV modules, it should nonetheless be thousand instances better than the doubtless electricity demand in India by the year 2015.

Present State of Deployment V/S Claims for Solar Energy in India

The quantity of solar energy produced in India is merely 0.4% in comparison with other energy assets. The Grid-interactive solar power as of June 2007 was merely 2.12 MW. Government-funded solar energy in India solely accounted for roughly 6.4 megawatt-years of power as of 2005. However, as of October 2009, India is at present ranked primary together with the United States in phrases of potential solar power generation capability.

In January 2015 the Indian government expanded its solar plans, targeting US$100 billion in investment and 100 GW of solar capacity (including 40 GW from rooftop solar) by 2022. India’s initiative of 100 GW of solar energy by 2022 is an ambitious target, since the world’s installed solar-power capacity in 2017 is expected to be 303 GW. The improvements in solar thermal storage power technology in recent years has made this task achievable as the cheaper solar power need not depend on costly and polluting coal/gas/nuclear based power generation for ensuring stable grid operation.

In January 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President François Hollande laid the foundation stone for the headquarters of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) in Gwal Pahari, Gurgaon. The ISA will focus on promoting and developing solar energy and solar products for countries lying wholly or partially between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. The alliance of over 120 countries was announced at the Paris COP21 climate summit. One hope of the ISA is that wider deployment will reduce production and development costs, facilitating the increased deployment of solar technologies to poor and remote regions.

Solar energy in India is Still pricey and Un-Affordable

Solar energy is at present prohibitive as a result of excessive preliminary prices of deployment. To spawn a thriving solar market, the expertise must be competitively cheaper — i.e. attaining value parity with fossil or nuclear energy. India is closely depending on coal and international oil — a phenomenon prone to proceed till non-fossil / renewable energy expertise turns into economically viable in the nation. The value of manufacturing ranges from Rs 15 to Rs 30 per unit in comparison with round Rs 2 to Rs 6 per unit for typical thermal energy.

Government Commitment for development of Solar Energy in India

In addition to its large-scale grid-connected solar PV initiative, India is developing off-grid solar power for local energy needs. Solar products have increasingly helped to meet rural needs; by the end of 2015 just under one million solar lanterns were sold in the country, reducing the need for kerosene. That year, 118,700 solar home lighting systems were installed and 46,655 solar street lighting installations were provided under a national program; just over 1.4 million solar cookers were distributed in India

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) have initiated schemes and incentives — like subsidy, mushy mortgage, concessional obligation on uncooked materials imports, excise obligation exemption on sure units/methods and so forth. — to in Europe and East Asia.

Solar Energy Growth Forecast in Inda

In August 2016, the forecast for solar photo-voltaic installations was about 4.8 GW for the calendar year. About 2.8 GW was installed in the first eight months of 2016, more than all 2015 solar installations. India’s solar projects stood at about 21 GW, with about 14 GW under construction and about 7 GW to be auctioned. The country’s solar capacity reached 19.7 GW by the end of 2017, making it the third-largest global solar market.

In mid-2018 the Indian Energy Minister RK Singh flagged a tender for a 100 GW solar plant at an event in Delhi, while discussing a 10 GW tender due to be issued in July that year (at the time, a world record). He also increased the India Government’s target for installed solar by 2022 to 227 GW.

Thar Desert for developing Solar Energy in India

In 1996 Amoco/Enron Solar Power Development deliberate to construct a 50 MW solar photovoltaic plant in the Thar Desert close to Jaisalmer in Rajasthan state. Two other initiatives had been proposed, one a 50 MW photovoltaics plant and the other a 200 MW solar chimney. None of these have been accomplished. The Rajasthan authorities, nevertheless, has put aside a 35,000 km² space of the Thar desert for solar power.

Use of Solar Energy in India for Rural electrification

Lack of electricity infrastructure is one of the principle hurdles in the event of rural India. India’s grid system is significantly under-developed, with main sections of its populace nonetheless surviving off-grid. As of 2004 there are about 80,000 un-electrified villages in the nation. Of these villages, 18,000 couldn’t be electrified by extension of the standard grid. A goal for electrifying 5,000 such villages was fastened for the Tenth National Five Year Plan (2002–2007). As on 2004, greater than 2,700 villages and hamlets had been electrified primarily utilizing SPV methods. Developments on low-cost solar expertise are thought of as a possible different that enables an electricity infrastructure comprising of a community of local-grid clusters with distributed electricity era. That might enable bypassing, or a minimum of relieving the necessity of putting in costly, and loss, long-distance centralized power supply methods and but deliver low-cost electricity to the plenty.

Solar Energy In India as Agricultural Support System

Solar water pumping methods are used for irrigation and ingesting water. The majority of the pumps are fitted with a 200–5,000 watt motor which might be powered with 1,800 Wp PV arrays which may ship about 140,000 liters of water/day from a complete head of 10 meters. By 30 September, 2006, a complete of 7,068 solar water pumping methods have been put in.

Land shortage for Solar Energy in India

Per ca-pita land availability is a scarce useful resource in India. Dedication of land space for unique installation of solar cells may need to compete with other requirements that require land. The quantity of land required for utility-scale solar power crops — at present roughly 1 km² for each 20–60 megawatts (MW) generated — might pose a pressure on India’s available land useful resource. The structure extra appropriate for many of India could be a extremely distributed, particular person rooftop power era methods, all related through an area grid. However, erecting such an infrastructure — which does not benefit from the economies of scale doable in mass utility-scale solar panel deployment — wants the market value of solar expertise deployment to considerably decline in order that it attracts the person and common household dimension household shopper. That may be doable in the long run, since PV is projected to proceed its present value reductions for the subsequent many years and have the ability to compete with fossil gasoline.

Slow progress of Solar energy in India

While the world including china and USA has progressed considerably in manufacturing of primary silicon mono-crystalline photo-voltaic cells, India has fallen quick to attain the worldwide momentum. India is now in seventh place worldwide in Solar Photo-voltaic (PV) Cell manufacturing and ninth place in Solar Thermal Systems with nations like Japan, Europe, China, and the US at present ranked far forward. Globally, solar is the quickest rising supply of energy (although from a really small base) with an annual common development of 35%, as seen in the course of the previous few years.

How Solar Energy is Used India

India uses solar energy like any other country in the world – by using photo-voltaic to obtain electricity. On a smaller scale, individual homes also use solar energy to heat water for domestic use

Why solar energy is important in India?

Potential of Solar Energy in India

Think-Tanks have really useful that India ought to undertake a coverage of growing solar power as a dominant part of the renewable energy combine, since being a densely populated area in the sunny tropical belt; the subcontinent has the perfect mixture of each excessive solar isolation and a giant potential shopper base density. In one of the eventualities, India couldn’t solely rein its long-term carbon emissions, however achieve this with out compromising on its financial development potential, with renewable assets like solar turning into the spine of India’s financial system by 2050.

Which state is the largest producer of solar energy in India?

Karnataka among all states top the chart.

Which is the largest solar power plant in India?

At the end of November, the country turned on the world’s largest solar power plant spanning 10 km sq in Kamuthi in the state of Tamil Nadu. It packs 648 megawatts of power—nearly 100 more than California’s Topaz Solar Farm, which was previously the largest solar plant at a single location

What are the advantages of solar energy in India?

Solar power is pollution free and causes no greenhouse gases to be emitted after deployment. Moreover, it is a maintenance free system which reduces dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels. Renewable clean power that is available every day of the year, even on cloudy days produce some power to the extend of 25% of its capacity.

Solar Subsidy in India

The Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has introduced a number of Central Financial Assistance (CFA) schemes to promote solar PV in India and achieve its ambitious 100 GW target by 2022. The support is aimed at providing subsidies to individuals or enterprises willing to contribute to growth.

The Indian government is promoting solar energy. It announced an allocation of ₹1,000 crore (US$140 million) for the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission and a clean-energy fund for the 2010-11 fiscal year, an increase of ₹380 crore (US$53 million) from the previous budget. The budget encouraged private solar companies by reducing the import duty on solar panels by five percent. This is expected to reduce the cost of a rooftop solar-panel installation by 15 to 20 percent.

The Emerging Technology of Solar Power

The Emerging Technology of Solar Power

Presently, the best quality solar panels can perform at peak efficiency of about 15 to 17%. This is due to the fact that our current solar technology does not allow the solar panels to use all available wavelengths of light. For example, in a ray of sunlight, there are many different wavelengths IV curves. Many of these we can’t even see with our naked eye. The same goes for solar panels.

Sunfuel Technologies LLP, an Indian based solar panel manufacturing company, has been utilizing “PERC” solar cell that can multiply the wavelengths of light to produce much more solar power even on a smaller solar generating system. While Sunfuel is keeping a tight hold on the technology that allows this advanced solar energy, they predict their new panels will produce more solar power than any other brand available in India as per the size of solar power plant and ideal sunlight conditions. A 5 kWp Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant with Sunfuel Solar Panels may equate to an electric bill of around Rupees 5 to 6 thousand per month for an average house hold by producing 20-25 units a day! This beats what most Indians pay now- well over Rupees 10 to 12 Thousand a month for electricity. Better yet, Sunfuel’s new panels convert a whopping 17% of sunlight to usable solar energy! This equates the industry standard and so-called top brands of India.

The University at Tel Aviv is also making enormous developments in solar panel technology. Scientists there have scrapped the idea of using semiconductors within their solar cells. Instead, they have genetically engineered “proteins using photosynthesis for production of electrical energy”. Commercial manufacturing of such a methodology is several years down the lane, but these panels would cost much less than the conservative silicone and could produce efficiency around 25%. This makes these solar panels very attractive to third world poorer countries that want to go solar but cannot afford conventional silicone solar panels.

Another promising technological progression is the upsurge in efficiency of thin-film solar panels. These thin film panels use 40% less silicone than conservative poly-crystalline solar panels, and are much less expensive. Unfortunately, they also have less efficiency. By the end of 2018, some scientists are estimating they will be able to produce thin film solar cells with more efficiency. This makes then more comparable to conventional solar panels. Also, more people will be able to buy these less inexpensive panels.

Further progress in solar panel technology is in the battery systems which you can use alongside your solar panels. Every year, new batteries are coming up in the market that last longer and store more energy than ever before. This increases the environmental friendliness of solar technology so that solar batteries don’t have to be thrown out or recycled as often.

Solar energy may seem expensive at first instance being upfront cost, but the long-term benefits are priceless. Where else can you get 25 years of reliable energy constantly and consistently which might cost very cheaper than the electricity provided by your DISCOM utility? Certainly you may not get such reduced tariff from your DISCOM utility company. Solar energy is reliable, has zero carbon emissions and easily pays for itself within 4-5 years of purchasing as Return of Investment (ROI). For the future of the world’s electric supply, residential solar power systems may be the best answer to a limitless resource: the Sun.

Procedure to Avail Solar Subsidy in Haryana for Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant

Before discussing Procedure to Avail Solar Subsidy in Haryana for Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant, we certainly have to learn and understand What is Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant or On-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant?

What is Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant

In a Roftop Solar System, the solar panels are installed on the roof of any residential, commercial, institutional and industrial buildings. Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant can be of two types:-

(i) Off-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant System with storage facility using battery, and
(ii) On-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant System i.e. Grid Connected Rooftop Solar System with Net metering facilities without Batteries.

Since we are discussing about Procedure to Avail Solar Subsidy in Haryana for Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant, hence our main focus would be to discuss Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant. On-Grid Solar systems generate power during the day time equivalent to the sanctioned load of the consumer which is utilized fully by powering captive loads and excess power is fed in to the grid as long as grid is available. In case, where solar power is not sufficient due to climatic conditions, cloud cover etc., the captive loads are served by drawing power from the grid through Net Meter (Bi-directional).

Working of Grid Connected Rooftop Solar System

The On-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant System i.e. Grid Connected Rooftop Solar System can work on net metering basis wherein the beneficiary pays to the utility on net meter reading basis only. Normally a Net meter contains two meters i.e. Export and Import meter which reflects user’s total energy usage. Such power plants can be installed at the roofs of residential and commercial complex, housing societies, community centers, government organizations, private institutions etc. Ideally, On-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant System i.e. Grid Connected Rooftop Solar System do not require battery back-up as grid acts as the back-up for feeding excess solar power and vice-versa. However, to enhance the performance reliability of the overall systems, a minimum battery backup of one hour of load capacity as stand alone system may be installed or existing battery inverter system could also be utilised by the user in case of non-availability of Grid and Solar. In grid interactive systems, it is ensured that in case the grid fails, the feeding of solar power to the grid is stopped immediately so as to safe-guard any grid person/technician from getting shock (electrocuted) while working on the grid for maintenance etc. This feature is termed as ‘Islanding Protection’. Simply it may be understood that in the event of failure of Grid main electricity, the solar power plant would also get shut down for safety and security measures. In such case, the user may utilise his stand alone offgrid system (existing inverter battery) for running his / her load.

Availability of Finance / Loan

Availability of Finance / Loan and Procedure to Set up Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant
Government of India Department of Financial services has instructed to all Public Sector Banks to encourage home loan/ home improvement loan seekers to install rooftop solar PV plants and include cost of system in their home loan proposals. Step by Step Information for Solar Panel Installation in Panipat

Step by Step Information for Solar Panel Installation in Panipat

Which Solar Panels to be Bought for Solar Panel Installation in Panipat?

My first and foremost advise would be to always look for quality, brand, efficiency, warranty, performance and price of course. Most of the time, price of a product becomes our first priority while ignoring the quality and efficiency of the product.  This might become the biggest mistake in selection of Solar Panels.  Clearly speaking, I would certainly look for whether the solar panels have been approved and tested by either MNRE, NISE or BIS for check of quality.  Secondly, I would ensure that the solar panel is providing highest efficiency at least above 16% and warranted for 25 years for performance along with product warranty.  The cells utilized has to be A Grade and Tier I sufficient enough to be categorized as CLASS A for application.  You could wish to purchase solar panels from quite a lot of solar panel producers, local vendors, distributors, EPC companies or straight from manufacturers like Sufuel Technology, Vikram Solar, Rhine Solar, Kirloskar, Microtech, HVR Saolar, IB Solar, Waree, Mehar Solar, Tata Power, Adani, Jinko and Canadian Solar etc. Prices of solar modules would differ from model to model and brand. Prices of solar Photo-voltaic Modules additionally would differ as per the scale, model, wattage in addition to voltage. To find out the most recent and current prices of Solar Modules of different brands of the panels it’s possible you’ll like to go to DayRise Solar Enerdy’s Contact Page on its official Webisite DAYRISE SOLAR – One stop solution to your solar power requirements or by telephonic communication given therein. Do not buy solar panels on-line or from low cost distributors. Since solar panels are valued to run 25 years or more therefore your investment should be smart for the real Solar panels and never the fake. Solar Power plant with low cost panels and low customary equipment wouldn’t stand for an extended time of 25 years thus forfeiting the fundamental objective of your investment into solar energy. So think twice before going for low cost stuff available in the market. In my opinion, instead of buying yourself, let the job be done by the expert and professional team of DayRise Solar. Professionally trained and skilled personnel of solar industry are the best judge to find out what is best for you thus avoiding inferior and low quality stuffs. They are merely one phone call away and ever prepared for meeting, premises / site visits, quotation, worth estimation, installation and commissioning of Solar Power Plants.

Where can I purchase solar panels or get assist for installation in Panipat?

Before elevating any question concerning charges of solar panels, you must be doubly positive about what sort of solar power plant you must install. There are varied kinds of solar power plants i.e. On-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plants, Hybrid Rooftop Solar Power Plants and Off-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plants. Now we have to perceive the distinction between these three solar power plants. On-grid solar power plant is put in at such locations / the place where grid connectivity is for nearly 24 hours and the consumer needs to cut back his/her electrical bills for subsequent 25 years. Second form of plant i.e. Hybrid is required to be put in at such locations / the place where grid availability is for 18 to 20 hours a day and the consumer wants constant power supply backup benefits along with advantages of net meter to economize on electrical bills. The third and the final one Off-Grid solar power plant is required to be put in at such areas where the grid availability is both restricted or doesn’t exist; therefore consumer wants power backup system by solar energy. So, after getting decided the form of plant you must install at your residence, faculty, school, institute, business enterprise, malls, workplace and many others, it’s possible you’ll like to seek assistance of native solar developer or solar system integrator like DayRise Solar who’re totally competent and technically professional in engineering, procurement, development and Step by Step Information for Solar Panel Installation in Panipat, Sonipat Haryana & Delhi NCR area.

Why do you have to rent skilled Solar Professional for Solar Plant Installation in Panipat?

Solar Panel or solar power plant installation completely wants sound information, technical know-how and technical specialists to seek their advice for analysis and combining a solar power plant with varied parts i.e. Solar Panels, connectors, wires, AJB, DJB, SPD, Lighting Arresters, Earthing, Net Meter and many others. Since it includes electrification, therefore strongly NOT RECOMMENDED “Do It Yourself” form of stuff. Stay Away from so-called internet gimmick, suggestions, tips and tricks about solar energy. Moreover your life is extra precious than dealing with electricity your self and asking troubles for self and family members as well as the whole household.
